Ok... The quizzes on the fact LIST have been fairly easy to date. The answers are there almost as fast as I can post the items. So, here is a fact LIST that you may have to think about for a while (maybe).

When you were young, there was a right that the Mom and I let you have. This was unusual for the 70s and 80s, especially in the south.

What was it...

Hint... It has nothing to do with chocolate, pizza or cookies.

Hmmm...

I'm just reading along because the list of constant facts is both entertaining and enlightening (and I thought it might be good prep for being the soon-to-be mother of 3). And, this has nothing to do with this post, but I have to weigh in here and say that green peas are not in fact "innocuous" vegetables (unlike other greenery) but are the SPAWN OF THE DEVIL and have both the taste and appearance of baby poop. Even my parents, now devoted vegetarians, who always encouraged the consumption of a wide variety of vegetables and grains never made me eat green peas (aka "banquet bullets). Brussel sprouts were another story.

Sorry, just couldn't let that one pass. I have very strong feelings about green peas. From a parent's perspective, I do like the as many bites as your age rule though.

Yea Aaron

Your answer is very close but is not exactly right. Your opinions were considered and you were allowed to be part of the discussion.

There is another facet to this empowerment that I was looking for in this fact LIST. Something with a more direct message for the times.

(We always did what the Mom wanted, anyway... but we got to express our opinions before we did it her way)

Ummm, you let Trey and Aaron pee off the porch?

Let us ride our bikes miles and miles away unsupervised?

You didn't hit us?

Let us conduct ritual sacrifices in the front yard?

I give up!

OK OK OK ...
(mmmfph...)

I can see once again with everyones tremendous articulating abilities that this fact LIST fact is spiraling way out of control. (off the front porch... mmmfph...)

The fact LIST is:
When you were young, we gave you the right to say NO to an adult.

In the 70s and 80s, this was rare, especially in the south where children were expected to show respect for "their elders". (Some people would say stuff like, "Now, now, don't back talk to your 'Aunt' Mabelline Sue ... or now, now, show your 'Uncle' Bobby Roy Bobby John some respect")

But as you know, there was no Amber Alert back then. So, the Mom and I thought there was a need for this right. It also had to do with that "Eagle" thing.

So, this one was a little more difficult to guess, huh...
